Below
are the key members of the WBF.
Alan
Carpenter - Chair Wymondham Business Forum 2008
Proprietor of IT Adviser, a Wymondham-based family business, set up in 2005 to
support small businesses in the area with computer sales, service, repairs and
networks, and of course, advice on setting up small business IT systems. The
name ‘IT Adviser’ came from a previous job title, namely working
for the government-funded Business Link as an IT Adviser, which involved helping
small businesses all over Norfolk with IT issues in business.
Alan moved to Wymondham with his wife and 2 children (now adults) 11 years ago
and has lived and worked in Norfolk for 35 years. As well as IT, Alan has worked
in a varied cross-section of industries including engineering, media and leisure.
He
is also an active member of Wymondham Players, and is also Chair of the Wymondham
Independent Network which is a new monthly business group, dedicated to local
networking and passing business referrals.
Niels Elffers – Vice-Chair Wymondham Business
Forum 2008
Proprietor of Kingfisher Locksmiths, a local Wymondham-based company who are
experts in opening doors with no damage. They have a reputation for fixing
problems that others cannot, and have their own workshop where they re-key
and refurbish not only modern but (more often) antique locks. In addition they
offer a first class local rapid response service, and supply and fit all types
of locks and replacements, at any time of day that suits the customer. Being
on top of their trade, they have the ability to find a solution for the customer’s
individual needs.
Niels came to England from the Netherlands with his wife 4 years ago, the children
having grown up and left home. They fell in love with Wymondham from the moment
they started house hunting.
Niels is active in the Wymondham Players as a stage builder and sound
technician, and is also the sound technician for the Wymondham and
Attleborough Talking Newspaper. He likes to support local business and is convinced
that if local businesses are used consistently everybody will keep their "carbon
footprint" to the minimum. It all helps!
Julian Gillett - Secretary Wymondham Business Forum 2008
Since retiring from a career in further education Julian has been involved
with several community organizations. These include Wymondham Community Partnership,
the local Citizens Advice Bureau and Wymondham U3A. He is also a Governor of
