| Dickensian Evening Organised by Wymondham Lions Club - Point of contact: Roger Kingwell - 01953 601271 Make a date with Wymondham Lions for Thursday 6th December ! That’s the date for this year’s Dickensian Evening. It will be the 21st in an unbroken series run by the Lions since 1986 – a remarkable record of community service. Last year, with generous sponsorship from the business community and tremendous public support, the event raised £1224, all donated to local charities – the Talking Newspaper, a children’s charity and the Wymondham Music Festival jazz picnic.
Once again this year the event will be a fun occasion for the whole family, starting with a lantern procession from Back Lane led by the Town Crier and the Norwich City Pipe Band , with Father Christmas and the Town Mayor in an open landau coach. The Wymondham Area Schools’ Brass Band will play in the Market Place with carol singing led by Wymondham Churches Together, and Father Christmas will be in his grotto.
Other attractions will include trade and charity stands, a hog roast and a Grand Hamper Draw sponsored by Waitrose.
