Wymondham is well provided with schools. The town has recently gone back to a system where children transfer at seven years old from infant to junior school and at eleven years old from junior to high school. This coincides more closely with the completion of one key stage of education and the start of the next.
Within the parish of Wymondham there are two infant schools, Browick Road and Ashleigh, which also has a nursery, one all-through primary school at Spooner Row, Robert Kett Junior School and Wymondham High School. Information also included about Wymondham College which is in Morley parish about three miles from Wymondham.
All the schools welcome personal contact with prospective parents. For further details and for a copy of the current school prospectus contact the headteacher at the number given at the end of each entry. Copies of the most recent OFSTED reports for each school are held in Wymondham Library and can be found on the internet.

Learning Centre opens doors for adult learners
Wymondham Learning Centre is to hold an open afternoon to show adult learners how easy it is to get back into the habit of learning – at whatever level suits their own needs.
The ‘open doors’ event will take place on Tuesday 24 July from 2 – 5.30pm in the Learning Centre behind the Town Council Offices in Middleton Street. It will offer information about learning events in Wymondham, Attleborough and the surrounding area, and show how easy it is for complete beginners to take the first steps in using computers, or for those with some experience to develop new computing skills.
The event will also provide information about the centre’s plans to move to new purpose-built premises at Wymondham High School this autumn.
“The learning centre has always opened doors for adult learners” said Kate Wood, chair of the Wymondham Learning Initiative charity which runs the centre. “On Tuesday we shall be opening our doors to anyone who would like to look in and meet us. This is an ideal way to find out how easy it is to get back into learning, which for many adults is something they put behind them years ago. It’s never too late to pick up some new skills, and it’s our business to help people do this at any time in their lives.”
